Basic Apps
Genius Scan



GoodReader is an app that allows you to read, manage, organize, access, and annotate just about any file. Also offers ways to download files, sync with Dropbox, create, edit, and manage annotations on PDFs, etc.


Spreaker Radio lets you listen to podcasts as well as broadcast your own. The app requires an account to use, or you can login via Twitter or Facebook, and has a fairly limited selection of podcasts.
Genius Scan+ turns your iPhone into a pocket scanner. It enables you to quickly scan documents on the go and email the scans as JPEG or PDF. You can add multiple pages, organize or re-arrange them
iBooks
iBooks is an amazing way to download and read books. iBooks includes the iBookstore, where you can download the latest bestselling books or your favorite classics – day or night. Browse your library on a beautiful bookshelf, tap a book to open it, flip through pages with a swipe or a tap, and bookmark or add notes to your favorite passages. You can also store PDF’s in iBooks to be accessible and fully searchable.
Evernote
Evernote is a cloud-based filing system for notes. It’s a giant, searchable, back pocket with dividers.
- The phone, pad or desktop app allows you to take notes as pictures, written notes, audio notes or you can just upload a file.
- You can give each one a title or tag them too.
- Once you’re done, you hit upload and off they go into the cloud.

Dropbox is a free service that lets you bring all your photos, docs, and videos anywhere. Any file you save to your Dropbox is accessible from all your computers, iPhone, iPad and even the Dropbox website!

Instagram is a free photo sharing program and social network that was launched in October 2010. The service enables users to take a photo, apply a digitalfilter to it, and then share it with other Instagram users they are connected to on the social network as well as on a variety of social networking services.
- Instagram currently has 200 million registered users. A distinctive feature is that it confines photos to a square shape, similar to Kodak Instamatic and Polaroid images, in contrast to the 4:3 aspect ratio typically used by mobile device cameras.
Yelp
Yelp is a crowd-sourced local business review and social networking site. It is primarily active in major metropolitan regions. The site has pages devoted to individual locations, such as restaurants or schools, where website users can submit a review on their products or services using a one to five star rating system. Businesses can also update contact information, hours and other basic listing information or add special deals. In addition to writing reviews, users can react to reviews, plan events or discuss their personal lives. According to Sterling Market Intelligence, Yelp is "one of the most important sites on the Internet." It has 132 million monthly visitors and 57 million reviews. As of 2010, Yelp had an established user-base in 33 cities. Siri (Apple’s digital assistant) uses the information from Yelp to answer questions regarding restaurants or business around the area and organizes them based on their ratings.
Google Plus
This is an app, a tool and also a social media outlet. Google + is a primary source from which Google would assess profile authority with connections within the network itself. Having a profile in Google + is very important to show up in the results of the searches of people that have us in their network.
Pinterest is a web and mobile application company that offers a visual discovery, collection, sharing, and storage tool. Users create and share the collections of visual bookmarks (boards). Boards are created through a user selecting an item, page, website, etc. and pinning it to an existing or newly created board. Users save and share pins from multiple resources onto boards based on a plethora of criteria, e.g., similar characteristics, a theme, birthday parties, planning a vacation, writing a book, interior decorating, holidays. Boards can develop projects, organize events, or save pictures and data together. This is a good tool to find content material.
